City Lodge Hotel Maputo
City Lodge Hotel Maputo is set to bring a new dimension of quality hotel accommodation to Mozambique’s capital city - the hotel is anticpated to open its doors to guests in late 2019.
The 148-room hotel is ideally located within easy reach of the Costa do Sol beach, the CBD, the airport, a private hospital, the university and various other enteratinement and shopping attractions.
The hotel’s rooms are to feature en-suite bathrooms featuring maxi showers (selected rooms have baths). One in 50 rooms has been specially designed to cater for the needs of physically disabled guests. The hotel is to comprise of three boardrooms for meetings, free and secure basement parking as well as a swimming pool and fast, reliable wireless internet. Full English and continental breakfast options and a sundowner bar service are to make this hotel the perfect place to start and end each day of your stay in Maputo.
Town Lodge Umhlanga
The 154-room Town Lodge Umhlanga is located on the corner of Umhlanga Ridge Boulevard and Meridian Drive in Umhlanga Rocks, KwaZulu-Natal. It is close to sister properties, the 168-room City Lodge Hotel Umhlanga Ridge and the 125-room Road Lodge Umhlanga Ridge, adding another CLHG brand to this growing business and leisure node.
Town Lodge Umhlanga will have a fresh identity that will secure its share of future markets to this busy region. It will be a place where people stay, meet and relax, from new, trendy travellers to regular, loyal clientele.
The hotel will welcome guests to a fresh design concept across four floors and, as with all CLHG properties, include rooms designed to meet the special needs of the disabled. Other notable features include two boardrooms (16 pax and 14 pax), spacious restaurant, swimming pool and parking bays for 110 cars.
“Town Lodge Umhlanga will offer the delicious full English and Continental breakfast offering and will have a lovely sundowner bar serving draught beer, cocktails and gins,” says Tony Balabanoff, divisional director: operations.
The newest Town Lodge is within close proximity to the beach, Gateway Theatre of Shopping and Durban, and a 15-minute drive from King Shaka International Airport.
Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City
Construction of the 168-room hotel, which is a land and building lease agreement with JSE-listed property company Attacq and the Barrow Group, is expected to begin in March this year with completion expected in October 2020.
The hotel will feature 10 levels and will include a rooftop bar/function area as well as a 100-seater conference facility. It will have 160 rooms as well as eight suites, meeting rooms, a swimming pool and a gym.
The City Lodge Hotel group already has a 149-room City Lodge Hotel within the Waterfall City mixed use residential, office and commercial area which has established a strong market niche for both business and leisure travellers. Waterfall City is located in a rapidly growing node between Johannesburg and Midrand and includes the Mall of Africa shopping and entertainment complex.
"With the Waterfall City node growing strongly, we are extremely excited about the prospects for this Courtyard Hotel which will showcase a new concept which our research has shown will be popular with our core market,” CEO Andrew Widegger said.
Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City will be the sixth Courtyard Hotel within the group, complementing one each in Pretoria and Port Elizabeth and three in Johannesburg.
The group is expected to open its 154-room Town Lodge Umhlanga Ridge in July and is planning to develop a 90-room Road Lodge in Polokwane. It also expects to open the 148-room City Lodge Hotel Maputo in April.
Once these new hotels are operational, the group will have 64 hotels in six countries in East and Southern Africa offering 8,160 rooms to business and leisure travellers.
